DEKRA to Support Carbon Neutral Production of Battery Cells

DEKRA is helping Farasis Energy (Ganzhou) Co., Ltd. develop its carbon neutral production of battery cells. On behalf of Mercedes-Benz, sustainability experts from DEKRA will review and develop environmental standards for the construction of the supplier’s new battery cell factory.

Battery cell supplier Farasis Energy (Ganzhou) Co., Ltd.’s production is to be carbon neutral in the future as part of a sustainability partnership with Mercedes-Benz. Planning is currently underway for a location in Germany, which is to operate on a carbon neutral basis. Production sites are also being built in the US and China.

Sustainability experts from DEKRA Assurance Services will partner with the supplier to provide support and expertise at the new battery cell factories in Bitterfeld-Wolfen, China and the US. They will ensure that actual CO₂ emissions are verified objectively and also provide advice on avoiding CO₂, purchasing energy and on carbon neutral production.
