Using the recorded SCADA data, DEKRA experts can make timely and reliable statements on the condition of the wind turbine: as a rule, a decision on continued operation, repowering or dismantling is made in Germany after 20 years of operation. Comparative data from other wind turbines can also be used to analyze operating time, productivity, wear or faults. DEKRA experts also support operators with all legal approval and engineering tasks when the operating term ends in accordance with the respective legislation.
One current topic is the safe operation of interconnected systems using hydrogen as an energy source, known as sector coupling. With an interdisciplinary network of experts, DEKRA offers safety-related services, including services as an approved inspection body in accordance with the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV) and as ZÜS pressure of storage containers for hydrogen. In addition, there is the complete know-how on dangerous goods containment and hydrogen filling systems in accordance with German legislation ADR/TPED. DEKRA also inspects the electrolysers before commissioning and on a recurring basis.
For all onshore and offshore wind turbines, DEKRA acts as an approved inspection body (ZÜS) throughout the entire operating phase, inspecting the access equipment and pressure vessels. The experts also carry out mandatory inspections of cranes and electrical systems. The stability of the wind turbine – tower and foundation – is also checked by DEKRA experts in the form of recurring inspections in accordance with the relevant regulation.
DEKRA will also be exhibiting at WindEnergy 2024 in the Recruiting Area in Hall B3.OG.
