Safety for everyone involved

  • Scrutineering of the vehicles by DEKRA experts
  • DEKRA’s longest-running sports sponsorship
  • Partnership has existed for 35 years

The DTM started its first season 40 years ago – DEKRA has been a partner for 35 years. The expert organization is not only involved with an extensive sponsorship presence, but above all with technical expertise: During the anniversary season, which starts next weekend (26-28 April) in Oschersleben, Germany, DEKRA will again provide the technical delegate nominated by the German Motorsport Association (DMSB) and is responsible for scrutineering. The DMSB-licensed experts will check whether the cars meet the strict requirements of the technical regulations.

Safety for everyone involved
This not only ensures equal opportunities, but above all ensures that only safe vehicles take part – because the protection of drivers, pit crews, stewards, officials and spectators has top priority.
At every DTM race event – as well as in the DTM Classic and ADAC GT4 Germany support series – DEKRA carries out the technical inspection of the vehicles. This involves checking all safety-relevant components such as seat belts, fire extinguishers and rollover devices. In addition to the safety of the vehicles, the technical inspectors also check the protective equipment of the racing drivers.
“Such a collaboration over three and a half decades is absolutely unique, and we are proud that the DTM commitment is our longest-running sports sponsorship activity”, says Guido Kutschera, Executive Vice President of the DEKRA Group and responsible for the business in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. “For us, this partnership is not just about the visibility of our brand through sponsorship – above all, we are contributing our core technical expertise, and we are doing so with passion.”
DEKRA will also be hosting the DTM at the second race weekend of the season (24-26 May), which will take place at the DEKRA Lausitzring near Klettwitz, Germany.
